when you checked the batteries with the volt meter what did they read when they were be charging? what did they read when they were not being charged?

This maybe kind of different but before I retired the tach on my Peterbuilt was run off a sensor on the drive shaft.

how did you determine that the batteries were fully charged? Chassis batteries or coach/house batteries?

it sounds like you may have a problem with getting your batteries charged. I assume you have an inverter/charger??? It may be that your batteries are not being charged while you are plugged into shore power but once you are driving, the batteries are being charged by the alternator. Do you have an inverter or a converter?

Tach signals can come off the engine flywheel via a prox sensor.
Sensor, wiring and grounds all need to be checked.

Would be nice to know what all works and what doesn't.

Hello. The dc problem of yesterday resolution was very wierd. All the batteries were fully charged and once I had the RV running for about 15 minutes and the dc started working ie all lights associated with DC came on. After I got the new tires on..the RV would not start until the third try. Is all of this connected ie loss of DC yesterday and now no reading of R PMs?

Tachometer signal comes from the alternator

did you ever figure out your 12v problem you posted about yesterday?

We had a problem with our coach with a couple gauges on the dash and traced the problem back to a bad ground. DH ran another ground wire and the problem went away.
