Running on one battery

Help! I have two 12-volt batteries in parallel under my step. One of them cracked and leaked. I have remove the one bad battery. The other appears fine. Can I just wire the one battery into the cables under the step and run on it safely until we get home in two days? Is there any risk in doing this? I think I will just have less 12-volt power available while not plugged into 110. True?

Thanks,

Dick
  • Not a problem running on one. The one remaining battery should work better, now that it doesn't have a bad one trying to drain it off.
  • If one went bad you may want to think about replacing the one battery you still have.
  • Thanks for the replies. I have it wired up and it is working. Will get a new battery when we get home.

    Thanks again. -- Dick
  • Not a problem. Just make sure there are no loose hot wires which could short out.
