RV battery charger tech advances in simple devices?

i have separated my 2 RV batts and run a wire from chassis + term to the house batt compartment area. now can check voltages w/ multimeter and charge either batt from one spot. have used the...

Probably. Most newer battery chargers have "smart" controlers. Meaning there is a chip inside that reads and monitors battery voltage. Most older chargers had a simple timer that turned on/off the charger.
