RV parks in Gatlinburg/Sevierville area

Getting ready to head to Hilton Head and up the east coast but thinking of stopping in this area of Tennessee. Remember seeing something about a nice new resort in the area. How about a recommendation? Thanks
  • We' ve stayed at Two Rivers and really enjoyed it. All sites have great views.
  • Or you can stay at Douglas Dam Headwater or Tailwater Campgrounds on the French Broad River

for $11 a night with a Federal Parks Senior/Disabled Pass. The new Anchor Down RV Resort overlooking Douglas Lake near Dandridge is an upscale RV Resort at $50-$70 per night that is within 3-5 miles of these TVA campgrounds.
  • The "nice new resort" you've heard about is the Anchor down" mentioned above, they opened this spring on Douglas lake. On our list too.
  • We went in May and stayed at Two Rivers Landing, very nice newer Rv park...
  • We generally stay at River Plantation. They have many pull thru sites.
Also IIRC the city trolley stops in the park .
  • We've tried several different rv parks in that area as we go down at last once a year. We have settled on River View rv park. Great place for real world rv camping. flat as a pancake and you don't have to drag the rv through all that traffic. Check it out.
  • River Plantation is the one we like.
If you want a small gated high end park in the town of Sevierville. The Dell is very nice. http://www.hiddenmountain.com/cabin-type/the-dell-rv/
  • If it is your plan to visit Gatlinburg I like Twin Creeks best for it's location. Nothing closer. If you don't mind driving a few extra miles then you can stay at Foothills, Twin Mountain or Riveredge RV park. If you don't mind driving many miles (or only wanted to visit Seieverville) then you can stay at River Plantation. They all have plenty of room, you just need to decide where you want to stay.
