We are in the sunshine state now (thank god!). But we have been staying at walnut grove since august while our house is under construction. It's actually in Merriam KS but it backs up to Shawnee city limit.
There are a lot of permanent residents in the park. The owners have been cleaning it up since we have been there. They are very nice and accommodating. When the weather was good we would get a bunch of folks together for a cookout on the owners patio.
It's the only park within 30 miles of shawnee.
The prairie band is a very nice place but 60 miles from shawnee. Pm me if you need more area information. Lifelong resident here.
