RV Step

Question

The step on my rv quit working. The underlined still comes on when I open the door, so I know the sensor still works. I removed the motor and put 12v on it and it still turns both ways. There is a black box labeled ids inc with number 11515E. Any idea if this black box could be bad and where I can get it?  Not sure what else to check.

Is the step not moving at all? My motor worked both ways too but the soft inserts inside were disintegrated to almost powder.

Assuming that you have the Kwikee automatic step, the manual from the link below has some troubleshooting steps beginning on page 8.

The same thing happened to me last month Kwikee Steps wouldn't extend or retract. My coach batteries were working but low. When I replaced both coach batteries my steps worked fine.

I assumed it was the light.
