RV Washing Machine

I am new to the RVing world and do not currently own a RV. The plan is to buy a used RV in the next couple of years and Full/SemiFull time in retirement. I've started doing as much research on RV's as I can and looking at used RV sales to have a good idea what I want and what the price range should be. I haven't got it down to a specific make/mdl yet but Have me list of whats in a coach started.
One of the wants I have that I have not had much luck getting info on is RV washer/dryers. I living in a RV for long periods of time to me makes having a washer/dryer a necessity. This narrows the selection substantially. So my question is is it difficult to add a washer/dryer to an RV once a suitable location is located on the coach?

Thanks

  • If you had the space, I think you'd have no problems installing something like this:

    Washer

    or this

    Dryer

Actually, my wife is wanting to get these for the trailer and we do have space to put them. And they are small enough, I suppose we could use them as end-tables for the couch!
  • If th coach does not already have a washer and if it is plumber for a washer you will not have much of a choice as to where it s going to goIf not plumber then there is ususally a location thet would have been where the washer was supposed to go. Again not much of a choice. If npne of the above every floor plan is different so now you are knid of on your own. Another decision to make assuming you have to have a washer is do you want a combination washer dryer or stacked unit. Stacked unit will take more space than a combination. As for desireability: DW says washer or no motor home. Now that we have a stacked unit in our current coach it would have to be same again. no combination unit. I for one would not mind spending some time each week in a laundry, but wife is driving this subject.
  • It might be an enormous job to retrofit a washer/dryer into an RV that wasn't originally designed foe it. You will be far better off buying one that has one in it. The plumbing on a retrofit might be a nightmare!!
