Safe-T-Plus problem

I had a similar issue for fine adjustment. It worked out fine when my alignment was corrected.

I put a mark on the tie rod as a reference when making those very small adjustments to align the Safe-T-Plus.

Adjust it by driving down the road and putting a mark on the steering wheel that aligns with a mark on the dash, when the coach is going straight.
Then park and raise the front wheels off of the ground. Adjust the steering stabilizer to line up the two marks that you previously put on your steering wheel and dash.

They can be a bear to center. Just 1/8 inch off and you have pressure. I built a trim kit for mine and have used it for about two years. That said, I removed the safe-t-plus this week to see how the handling is now with new shocks.

I think (However am not sure) the Safety Plus has an optional "Remote adjustment" kit that lets you fine tune it from the driver's seat same as my Blue Ox Tru-Center.

You might wish to check and see if that is the case.. NOTE: I am not sure it's the Safe-T-Plus, but I think it is.

Option... Is the same one I have, though some folks pan it as well.

NOTE: your complaint is WHY I opted for the blue ox.

I took a wrench and hammer with me while heading out on the highway. I'd drive and then pull over to adjust. It took about 4 or 5 adjustments before I got it dialed in. That was almost 10 years ago and it is still working just fine.

WOW ... sounds like a great fun item to buy ...

When we purchased our first mh,(2005 Winnebago Class A) back in 2007, the original owner had already installed both the front/rear trac bars and the Safety + steering. I have to say it was an absolute gem to drive as it took almost no effort to keep it going straight down the road. About a yr before trading for our current mh,(2004 DSDP), a fluid leak developed and Safety + replaced it at NC. I remember having to get the new replacement one adjusted took some doing as I did what you described. It was well worth it in the end.:B

We had to have ours adjusted a couple of times after it was installed, but we had also just had new tires and an alignment done on the coach, so maybe it was easier to get adjusted correctly. CW told us to stop in anytime if we found it still wasn't right after driving it more.
