A Winegard Travler is essentially a "home" sat -- it's a DISH 1000.

So whatever you use at home, you can use on a Travler -- including both of your 722s.

The Travler does not need to move once it has locked onto its 3 sats (110, 119, and 129).

Correct !! The Dome type Sat. Antennas can only lock in on one Satellite at a time (Dish has 3 and Direct has 5), but as long as they are Dual LMB, 2 Receivers can watch different programs, as long as they are on the same Satellite.

We just upgraded from a Dome to the Wineguard Traveler for Dish and now get all 3 Satellites and, just like home, can watch any of our subscribed channels at any time. Just cannot watch while driving anymore. The DW can always put in a movie if she gets bored !!

The 211 receivers can operate with the other dish yes. The VIP722k receiver from dish is capable of watching two separate channels at the same time and to do that you must have a dish capable of receiving two signals at the same time and the lower end automatic dish's do not. The manual setup with the dual LNB can feed the 722 receiver, but the lower end automatic receivers can not do that. They "toggle" between satellites as you change chAnnels -- on one tv

My low cost portable satellite system picks up either Dish satellite arc (eastern and western) in HD or SD, and supports multiple receivers watching multiple programs on multiple satellites. The base system is a 1000.4 dish and VIP211K receiver.

You can do whatever you want with a Trav'ler. It is the dome antenna that have serious restrictions.

Thanks... at least to those who know what they're talking about. I guess I'll just have to move both my 722's to the mh and see for myself....too many people here who jump in with nonsense just confuses the issue.

I suspect that what ever I do at home, I'll be able to duplicate in my mh since they both have the same antenna and receivers.

I just put in a Travler, easy install. We have the DTV Genie, so 5 channel recording HD. For the rear TV you now have the option of the mini Genie, which is essentially a wireless HD connection to the front box. That lets you keep your current DVD and cable connection from front to rear plus the new option of HD.

In campgrounds we just ask for Satellite Friendly sites, has worked like a charm so far. Best money spent!

I have both a roof mounted and a carry out. Prior owner paid for the roof dome. I only have one TV in the coach so can't comment based on experience concerning using the domed antennas to feed independent receivers. Both the domes have two coax outputs to support two receivers but I don't know how the dome would react to conflicting demands for signal from two different satellites. I've removed the domes and watched the antenna shift between satellites as I change channels.

What I will comment about is the roof mount and carry out. Most of my camping is in government parks (Mid Atlantic region) and the roof dome is blocked by trees and hills 80 to 90% of the time. The carry out I have gives me much more flexibility to find an opening where it can see the required satellites. I have a roll of 200' of coax/power cable and have used all of it a few times without a problem. I've also tried the roof dome while going down the road. Hit and miss with a lot of signal lose due to obstructions. Suspect when and if I ever get west of the Mississippi River and on the Great Plains it would probably work great.

Highly recommend a carry out over a permanent roof mount. Besides one less place for water to get in thru the roof and when you change rigs you can move it to the new coach. I've also used the carry out during our group rally around community big screen someone supplied.

The Winguard 1000 is really nice, after years of domes this thing blows them all away. Far better reception, locks on all 3 dish satellites and changing channels is flawless.

simple just use a swim system and two separate receivers on two separate runs. My neighbour has this set up and works fine
