- randallbExplorerArch has the right idea but using Seafoam is not the only way to use "his" procedure. For an F-53/80 gallon chassis purchase 4 quarts of cheap ATF. Add it to your fuel tank, top off your tank and head on down the road. The detergents in the ATF will do a great job of cleaning the injectors, back side of the intake valves and piston crowns. It is one of the oldest fuel system / upper end cleaners known to mechanics and it is cheap. $20.00 buys your ATF. The Seafoam would cost around $70.00.

p.s. Marvel Mystery oil was just a thinned ATF and it was purchased by millions of people as a fuel system cleaner and air tool lube. - John_JoeyExplorer
- 10forty2ExplorerI use Sea Foam in EVERY tank full of fuel.... 1oz Sea Foam/1 gallon of gas. Cheap insurance for today's bad gasoline.
- MoteExplorerSorry, I can't really help with the vacuum line. But, I would say unless your engine is running poorly I would just add a couple of cans to the gas tank and take a trip. When you get back, change the fuel filter in case the treatment loosened up some gunk in the tank and is now in the filter.
- ArchHoaglandExplorerMy Seafoam treatment consists of adding six cans to my gas tank once a year and go on a 450 mile trip.
During that trip I run the generator for at least an hour. - Mike_SchriberExplorerI'm guessing you missed the part about hydraulic power brakes eh?

If you have power brakes you have a big vacuum line to draw the Seafoam in until it quits, let it sit for 1/2 hr and then start, will be a little smoky for a few minutes. That's how I got it in the motor. - keymastrExplorerBecause there are delicate and expensive sensors in the intake such as throttle position etc. that would be damaged by any solvents.
- mccsixExplorerWhy not thru the intake with the engine running and the air filter removed?
- midnightsadieExplorer IIsea foam is a real good gunk cleaner. I use in my boat motors and lawn equipt, I just put in the fuel tank and drive.
- sch911ExplorerSeems like an obvious question: Why would you put Seafoam in your motor?
