Our Jayco has that little tube too. There are longer versions, but you have to look to see if some part of the coach keeps a longer one from fitting. That's the case with ours. Many of the OPs here make a carrier out of PVC pipe or a PVC fencepost. You don't want to stow the hose in the square steel bumper, will rust it out.
In our case, the flimsy plastic door catch wouldn't keep the hose in. I got a metal catch at Home Depot. Nice enough, holds shut, but the only ones they had require (and come with) keys. I don't think there's that much Sewer Hose Theft, but ours is Secure! With the solid catch, I can push the hose we normally dump with into place. We carry longer ones, and I keep them in the steel bumper. Luckily we don't use them very often and when we do I have time to let them dry.
