I finished installing a Samsung RF197 in our motor home and I have a question for those who have already done this.The RF197 doesn't have an on/off switch, and it seems a shame to keep it running during periods between trips.How have you taken care of this issue?I am thinking of a wall switch between the AC source and the outlet. I could use the "Store Display" setting, but this still leaves the light on if the doors are kept open. What say you??

I asked the same question when I installed the Samsung in my old coach. As many stated, just leave it on, which I do. It draws very little power when not in use and I didn't even notice it on my electric bill. We keep sodas, condiments, bottled water and other items in it when parked at home. Why unload it each trip. It also works as an extra refer for parties.

I used a plug in strip with a switch in the back. Best upgrade I've ever made.

It's been on for 2 1/2 yrs now, no problems so far. If I need to shut it off I'll use the breaker.

The only way to kill all power is to unplug or kill the breaker. You CAN put the refer in demo mode. That leaves the interior lights ON if doors left open and power to the digital control but disengages the compressor. Doug

The refrigerator may be in demo mode, which will disable the compressor in order to save electricity for when the refrigerator is on the showroom floor. Press Power Freeze and Energy Saver buttons for 8 seconds to cancel this mode. You will hear a chime.

All are good ideas. I just found it strange there is no off switch. The store setting still leaves the lights on. I guess I could leave it running with stuff in it. That sure makes the next trip a little easier to prepare for.

Our Avanti fridge turns off when I turn the knob to Zero
Off to the point that it does not cycle at all, even the light bulb turns off
Must be a switch that controls a power relay
