- johnsonbertExplorerIf you get into any colder weather, you may find that a vinyl tile floor may be considerably colder than a carpet, but your can always put a throw rug on it, as under the dining table or something. That is what we have found anyway. Hope this may help. Happy Trails Bert
- sailor_louExplorerNot at all, two of my slides roll over ceramic tile.

I misread your question. I did see one RV with wood in lieu of carpeting on the slides and it was installed by the owner.
Lou - msturtzExplorerThe newer rigs don't have carpet for the slide outs. We have a 2014 Palazzo and it is vinyl from front to back. Love it! Don't want carpet.
- ScottGNomadI think they use it to hide the unsightly edge or even rollers that the slide runs over. If they used something solid it would have to be slightly raised to clear said edge and would be hard to make look nice.
I'm sure a nice flooring could be used to do the same thing but carpet is easy.
