Slide Problem on Fleetwood Discovery

I have a 2004 Fleetwood Discovery 39L. The fuses on the rear slides need to be replaced quite often or the slides won't work. I always have the engine running when operating the slides, The fuses being used are a 25 amp slow blow fuse. Where do I start trouble shooting this problem
  • My 05 Expedition blew a BR slide fuse once. As soon as I touched the switch.

Never has again. That is supposed to be a ceramic slo blo fuse.

My kitchen slide motor died in warranty.
  • I have a 2005 39S which should be close to the same as yours. I've only had a fuse blow one time about a year ago. I have no idea why it blew. Since then I've done a better job of maintenance on lubing the slide mechanism under the bedroom slide and keeping the seals lubed. Anything that reduces friction or stress will help.

Are you aware of how to use a ratchet on the mechanism under the head of the bed to physically move the slide in and out if you need to?

    Bill
  • The motor is straining upping the drain/amperage making it blow....check motor to make sure connections tight on it and good ground..that's if you can get to the slide motor...also check any connections from fuse etc...that motor might be on the way out or the slide track needs to be lubed to make the motor strain less on moving it.

    1. Check track and lube with proper slide lube.
    2. CHeck elec connections that have anything to do with slide.
