I replaced one on the Endeavor I used to own. It wasn't a piece of cake by any means but it wasn't that bad. Use a little silicon and a non metal pry bar, I made one from an old hammer handle. Worst part is the corners you have to cut them, then glue a piece on to hold the halves together. I ordered the new seal from Holiday Rambler. The slide cover will have to come off unless you can get to the middle, and put the slide half way out. Good luck.

I had one of my slide seals on 2008 Newmar replaced at a RV dealer and they cut the corners....I took it back and had they to do it right without cutting the corners....it took them about 1 1/2 hours to do it correctly like the factory seal. Their cost.

No need to cut the corners...cheap fix.

Well I'm not sure about how cheap it is but the seal was installed that way from HR. Ya might want to account for the fact that not all manufacturers do things the same before you start bad mouthing what someone else does, Pastor.

My apologies if you think the truth is bad mouthing you. The dealer installed the replacement seal while the shop supervisor was in the hospital and when he returned to work I called him and shared the new about how they had cut the corners during install and he had me to bring it back in and do it right. as the factory seal had been installed in one piece with any cutting. Cutting the seal was a labor savor for the installers.

His words to me were if he had been there when the work was done the first time he could have seen that the work was done proper.

Different strokes for different folks and the same goes for motor homes. I didn't know that a Mandalay was a HR, RoadKing.

  • I replaced all 3 of my slide seals. Did it at the same time I was replacing slide toppers. If you have awnings over your slides they will almost certainly need to come off. The hardest part was working with the new seal in the limited space between the slide and the wall - it was rough on the fingers and knuckles. My experience is that you have to work a few inches at a time getting the seal in position and pressing it onto the lip of the opening. I would say it was about a 7 overall. I got my new seal material from Monaco to make sure I got the right stuff.
  • I have consistently found the best place to buy all types of RV seals is here:

No financial interest in the company, just a happy customer.
