Slide won't come in-help

We just had the LR slide fixed on our 2005 GeorgieBoy. Shear Pin had broken
and motor would only spin--no slide movement. Had a local mobile repairman
came and fixed--took about 1/2 hour. We also have a manual override with a
crank handle.

You have the HWH system, and there is a manual retract process.

Under the second step you will find the pump and solenoids. I think the passenger side front is the one closest to the door. On the end facing the rear there is a 1/4" release valve, open it about 2 and 1/2 turns and the room may start in on it's own. some times you can push it in by hand. If not follow the instructions in the above links.

After it's in be sure to close up the valve.

if you look at the wiring schematic for the switch, there is a diagram of which wires control the retract operation. since the pump runs, and if its a bad switch, you could jumper the solenoid side of the switch to open the retract solenoid. make sure if it has room locks that they are fully retracted. if they are not and you jumper the switch you could damage the room.

electric slides have shear pins, hydraulic slides dont.
if it has room locks with a switch located up front, try locking and unlocking the locks. i found the same problem on a coach in albuquerque. the control box has to see he locks retracted to operate.

ON MINE.. The control board is up front on the passenger side of the coach, ahead of the steps. There is a clear plexiglass pane over it. If you can dredge up a model # of that board, or the model# of the leveler system, PM me your email address and I can send you what I have in .pdf.

What I remember when I had a solenoid quit was that I was somehow able to figure out which one it was, OPEN the valve manually (there is a knob on top), and then retract it with the pump as normal.

Also, there are several fuses on that board. If you have a voltmeter you can remove the clear cover and get to them with the help of a blanket to lay on, and a doubled-up pillow to keep your head and shoulders elevated to reach in. Be careful where you are because that board also controls the jacks, and airbag dump, so stay in a safe position incase the coach dumps air or jacks retract.

There's the other question... Does ANYTHING work, or just the retract slide?

Yes they are hydraulic slides. Where bouts is the control board you are talking about? Is it the same board as shows the jack lights? If so ours shows no lights for the slides. Only buttons to push to retract or put slides out. Yes we found the procedure for doing it manually. We are really hoping we can find the cause and get it fixed. We will be on the go and stopping several times and will need for it to work. can you get to the solenoids from under the coach? Hubby couldn't see anything with going in under the steps.

It's likely that this is a hydraulic system.. mine is.
What you are probably hearing is the pump located under the stairs. There you will also find solenoids that control the direction of the pistons that run the slides, and it sounds like one either got stuck, or the control board has a failure. On that board are LOTS of LED's that show the incoming control status as well as the outgoing control command that runs the pump, solenoid, etc.

IF this is hydraulic, there is a procedure for manually pushing that slide in, but 1st you need to find those solenoid valves and open the bypass or you will get nowhere

This is on a Meridian, but these two are very closely related..

If this is a Power Gear Slide, there is a manual brake release on the slide motor. After you release it you can manually bring in the slides with a socket wrench or it may take two people working in sync to bring it in.

If there is a compartment beneath the slide, I would look for a removeable panel in the overhead area of that compartment.
