If I'm on a road with turn outs it's very likely a twisty mountain two lane and I'm doing 35?40
You're correct, there are not many, but I can give you some examples. Like Highway 50 through Nevada as well as a lot of those other two lane highways that cross Nevada. Miles and miles of two-lane highway with no turn outs except on the hills, but lots of cars that want to do 90 as they drive through the middle of no where. But on those roads you don't have to get out of the way either because you and the car that wants to pass you are probably the only two vehicles in 20 miles. So passing is easy and you don't have to pull over for them.
