Small class c and no car?

We spent a month in ours and could have done two easily (I wish we had). We did have a toad on the trip which made access to many places much easier/possible. We put 100 miles on the toad in none day at Yellowstone.

Our toad works well for us. We can get places the RV cannot go. Too bad tiny SUVs have gone the way of the dodo as they are ideal for pulling behind smaller RVs. Nice Trackers, Rockys, Samurais, Sidekicks, etc. are getting tough to come by and good ones fetch a premium price. Unless I stumble into a better toad, I suspect I will be rebuilding the Tracker to keep it going.

Never had much problem parking our 27 footer or our previous 23 footer in restaurant lots, tourist spots or mall parking. Agree, 27 footer not as easy to parallel park on city streets at antique shops, etc. Choice of length and floor plan depends on many factors including age and agility and compromises.

There are a number of full timers in Views or Navions. Mostly single. There are also a lot of people (couples) who travel for months at a time in C class before returning home. Just have to change your life style somewhat.

Have to agree with you on the 24 feet. We can park pretty much anywhere. Also had to laugh at your comments about separate sleeping. Never thought we would go for separate sleeping but we now think we have the best of both worlds. We bought the Winnebago Fuse with the twin beds. When we want to sleep separately, we have twin beds that are always made up without having to put out a slide. When we want to sleep together in a large bed, the twins make up into a huge king size bed - best of all worlds in our opinion. So, for those who haven't considered twin beds before like we had not - it actually can be a really great option.

Also, we don't tow, leave an occupied sign on our spot when we go out to do something and, in over twelve years, we have never had someone take our spot.

On the other hand. We have 65K and 11 years on a 24ft with no tow.
Each has his own thoughts on likes and dislikes but.
A 24 is a lot easier to find parking, for say at a restaurant, parking lot, or small town than a 27.
And number two, why is it so important for a long married couple to sleep in the same bed while on vacation? I sleep up top, DW on the dinette. Both are very comfortable, and we kind of both like it. I can go to bed earlier, she can read an so on. And we each kind of have our own space. And, no fixed bed opens up a lot more living space
on the interior, for things other than sleeping. Just us though, too each his own.

The 27 footer is has slightly smaller turning radius but handles much the same on the open road as a short rig. No reason a woman can't drive and maneuver a 27 foot rig. Many grow to hate sleeping in the overhead or uncomfortable jackknife sofa, etc., once novelty wears off. Hard to get out of bed in the dark without waking up your partner and climbing down and back up ladder in the dark, especially If you have bad knees or tender feet, etc. All Class C's are usually the same width and height, regardless of length. I guess we are the exceptions. We had Class B Roadtreks for years and loved them. We now have a C and tow a Jeep because we tend to stay a week at a time at the same campground, normally in the National Forests or state or national parks. We don't really use hookups that much. We have found that if we really want to tour around the country and only spend a day or two in any one place, or maybe four or five days in some park, a B worked better for us. Yes, it was less comfortable but also a lot less hassle and mobile.

The C works well for us at this point and we love the Jeep behind the rig, but I bet we are back to the B world in a few years and will B around the country seeing the sights. We also found a 190 Roadtrek to be much more driveable in an urban setting. I guess we have just been lucky, but have never had anyone take our space during the day when we are gone. We leave some stuff outside like chairs and an "Occupied" sign we carry for that purpose. AND, we have never had anyone take anything from our campsite. Like I say, just lucky I guess after doing this for over thirty years.

Since I'm single, I figured a 'B' would be fine for me. And it was fine size-wise. And it would have been fine if the CG was the destination. But I'm more of a visitor/tourist. If I left the CG to explore, I often came back to find somebody in my spot. I even tried putting an orange highway cone in my place while I was gone and sometimes found it moved out of the way and the spot taken by somebody else.
So I traded my 'B' for a 'C' and added a Jeep Wrangler toad. The 'C' stays in the CG, hooked up, and I do my exploring in the Jeep. Bonus: The 'C' has a full time queen bed unlike the uncomfortable bed/sofa in the 'B'. And the Jeep is just plain fun to drive.

We have a 29' class C and have never towed -- our car wasn't suitable for it, and the idea terrifies me, anyway.
We generally rent a car where we go as re-parking the rig is a headache even without the umbilicals. The only place we really don't need to rent is New York City, but there have been a few smaller places where we could walk to the attractions.
One campground strongly suggested that parking a MH downtown would be an invitation to have everything you owned disappear.

Thanks for all your great comments. Have looked at the Forest River Forester on the Mecedes chassis and the Winnebag Travato. The Travato is even smaller at 21 feet. Not sure I can my wife to go with this one.

Should be so easy to handle compared to the 40 Monaco with a tow vehicle we used when we full times for 8 years.
