Small DP - 2004 Newmar Kountry Star 3353

I have owned gas coaches in the past and am now buying my first DP. During the non-winter months I'll use it to travel between my three offices (CA, MT & WA). Every 60 days I'll take off and make a two week 3,000 mile loop. Knowing I'll run up the miles pretty quick I've decided to go with a gently used rig that is 10 years old and has already taken a big depreciation hit. I've located a very clean one owner Newmar Kountry Star 34' with $20K in factory options, an ISB 300 engine and 60,000 miles. I like the idea of the smaller coach for a lot of reasons, including maneuverability, mileage and storage.
Can anyone give me an opinion on the quality of the Kountry Star product? It appears to be a solid "middle to uppper-end" product. Will that Cummins 300 provide adequate power?
I can buy an 04 Monaco Cayman with 4 slides and 8,000 miles for a little more but the quality doesn't appear to compare.
Any advise would be appreciated....thanks!

    We have a 2001 Kountry Star (36ft, two slides). Bought it new and still love it.

    Had two issues in the first year and both fixed under warranty. Actually both issues were freightliner. Haven't had any issues since.

    It also has the ISB 300 (Cummins 5.9) Living in Oregon and going to the beach (towing a jeep Grand Cherokee) we are often in the coast range mountains. I had a Banks system installed and it runs great.
    Increased HP and torque significantly. Ran okay before but towing the jeep slowed it down in the mountains.

    Don't think you'll go wrong with a Newmar product. Great customer service even if it's just a phone call asking questions.

    Would buy this unit again in a heartbeat.
