Unfortunately I didn't know about the 4x4 4 down towing until after I bought my pick up so I installed a driveshaft disconnect. It is costly and you are heavily modifying your truck but it works fantastic.I only had problems with it once and that was due to it being dirty from a few years of non use.it is another option to consider but I agree the factory 4x4 is the best route.I had mine installed at Drive Shaft King off Buckey in Dallas. They did a fanstastic job . Here is a link to the device . If you have a two wheel drive Automatic is works very well.
