Snow chains for small class C

We make many trips year round to Yosemite. On occasion, chains are required to get in or out of the park. Once we get to the campground, we wait it out.
We are required to carry chain during the winter months. My small Class C requires the Class "S" style because of the minimal distance between the duals. The chains would have to be cables.
When I go online, I see the cables run in weight from as low as 6lbs to 15lbs. That's a big range. I would like to keep the price under $100. the tire size is LT225/75/16. Any recommendations?
  • Do try them on before you need to. You really don't want to learn in the snow.

It's quite easy to roll the inside wheels up on 2x6's to elevate the outers- but you probably knew that.

    ...and get some extra tensioners.
  • I did a great deal of searchig. Found that the SSC cable chains ZL729 would work the best with the "S" class I needed for limited dual tire spacing. Pricing ran from $87 to $149. I ended up buying them from Amazon for the $87 plus tax and FREE shipping. Ordered on Monday and received them USPS yesterday. That was 2 days. Amazon said I should expect the chain on Friday thru next wednesday. Amazed I got them so quickly.
I ran the motor home inner dual tire on 2 boards 2x10. that made it so simple to slide the chains under the tire rather than trying to feed the cables between the duals. Easy attachments and tightener. Yes, I should have purchased an extra set of tensioners for $11, I am going to add them to my Christmas gift order I will be placing next week, so I will be getting the free shipping again.
Now I hope I neverr need them!
