Well,
Everyone's got opinions on this. I myself, have never been a fan of dishwashers. I call them "dirty dish closets". Since they're capable of storing lots of dirty dishes, meal after meal, 'till they're full enough to run a cycle, the dishes just sit, like being in a closet.
The wife cooks about 80-90% of the time, and I cook the 10-20%. But, I do 100% of the dishes. And I like doing them right after we eat, within a given time frame. Besides, we don't have an on board dishwasher. To each his own.

We don’t have a MH, just a good size 5er, to me a waste of space! We have a nice double bowl sink. No need for a mechanical DW. - scbwrExplorer IIIf we had one, we'd use it. If we had room for one, I'd consider installing one. So, we will continue to have "quality time together" not only while cooking but while cleaning up afterwards. When on the road and even when spending longer amount of time escaping winter, doing dishes the old way doesn't seem to be an issue.

LOL. My wife doesn't see the need for one. Plastic silverware and paper plates and all.
Serious answer here - Before dishwasher we would run out of water when we dry Camped - DW, is not a Paper Plate Person - Wine must be served and be drunk from a glass - Red Solo Cup for Me!
So when we had the Coach build we spec'd a Fisher and Paykel - Now I can Shower in the evening after the dishes are done and still have water to clean up in the morning after unloading the dishwasher.
We are all different so get what works for you - We Boondock and we use plates and glasses - so it pays to have one.
JMHO - RoadpilotExplorerWe use ours all the time. We do use the short wash mode which works fine.

If that is what you are using most of the time, agreed, can't see the need then. Our motor coach is our home. We use the dishwasher. Our Fisher & Paykel uses 1.8 gallons of water per load and is Energy Star rated. Very economical and energy efficient to operate in our situation. - FIRE_UPExplorerWell,

Scott - doxiemom11Explorer IIWish we had one.
- TrackrigExplorer IIThe DW uses me for a lot of things besides just washing dishes.
Bill - AlaskaShooterExplorerWhen I'm staying in the RV the dishwasher gets used. I shop, I cook, but I don't do dishes. That's why I bought it. While she lives in it alone she can wash dishes in the sink till the cows come home.
- newman_fulltimeExplorer IIMine is great it cooks and does the dishes
