South Carolina for April: Charleston or Myrtle Beach?

Husband wants me to pick where we will stay for the month of April: Charleston or Myrtle Beach. What would you suggest and what is there to do there?
  • Also ... in MB there are several state parks (Myrtle Beach SP & Huntington Beach SP), Brookgreen Gardens, Ripley's Aquarium, many show venues (Alabama Theater, Palace Theater, etc)....not just beaches & golf........
Ocean Lakes is an excellent campground... been there 4 or 5 years running....
and Charleston is an easy round trip day adventure........
  • We visit Myrtle Beach SC in April every year. We stay at Ocean Lakes. Great friendly place. Last year we went to Charleston for one overnight. That was fun. Very historic but we would rather stay in Myrtle Beach. You can easily go anywhere and do anything without large crowds that time of year. Temps 65-75.

    Have Fun
  • If you have never been, visit Charleston. Lots to do.....great aquarium, City Market, 3 beaches nearby, carriage rides, delicious food, etc.
Myrtle Beach is crowded, lots of high rises and mostly about golf and beach. If you are looking mainly for beach time, you prob will enjoy.
  • Really depends on your interest. MB is more of a resort town. Charleston is Historic. The spring flowers should be in bloom. Several gardens and Plantations to visit.
