Southwind 36T/37C - Handling/Relilabity/Overall Usability

Hi Folks,

I am new here and looking for a used Class A. I am currently looking at two used MH's, a Fleetwood Southwind 36T and a Fleetwood Southwind 37C. I am wondering about reliability issues, handling issues, comfortable outside temperature ranges. Are these great, good and better off to leave them alone MH's? If you have ideas suggestions or comments on the Southwind models please let me know before I pull the trigger.

  • Have an 05 Pace Arrow 37c. Looked for the thing for a whole year. After chasing them all over the states, I found one 180miles away in Calgary. Funny how that is!Have had it for 4yrs. Go south for 6months every year. Totally love the machine. 496ci chev with 5speed trans. The side hallway gets a lot of compilments from people. If you have electric jacks, dont turn too sharp to the left cause the tire rubs on it. Check under to see if that is happening.Other than that every works great. Little bit of fogging on 2 windows.
  • Ref the 06 model...If it is truly an 2006 V-10, they made significant changes in that year....More hp/torque and a better transmission.....Earlier years were good but general consensus is that 06 and later were significant improvements...

Check the VIN for the year of the engine.....
  • Both are Ford's with the V10 motor. The 36T is a 2002 model with less than 10,000 miles. The 37C is a 2006 model with about 20,000 miles.

  • Southwind's are good gassers, but what year and chassis are you asking about?
