During our last outing we ran into an awful windstorm in New Mexico. In fact, it was so bad we pulled off two times to wait it out due to being shoved all over the road.My question/concern is this. My Terra has front and rear stabilizer bars, they came with the rig. IF I replace these what should I replace them with? And, is it worth replacing them? Will newer bars reduce the all over the road driving?When going down the road in calm weather there is no coach sway what-so-ever it is just with the wind. To be honest though, there is a bit of a sway, not much, with roads that are crowned.I realize this will be an expensive proposition so all the help I can get to make a somewhat informed decision is great.

High winds will stop even the best diesel motorhomes, maybe your sway bars are not the problem, drive slow or take a rest in high winds is all one can do.

I have a Fleetwood Terra, 2007, with 19k miles. It's Ford V10. I've only had the vehicle a few months. So I do not know if there have been any components replaced or not. In the high wind we experienced we did find it necessary to pull off and wait it out.

Start by checking the sway bar bushings and sway bar end link bushings. If any play/you can see any gap, replace with polyurethane bushings.

I have a 2013 Winnebago Adventurer that was all over the road in even mildly windy conditions. I took it to Redlands Truck & RV. Outstanding. Redding came up when I was talking to them. They mentioned a place there that they'd recommend if I wanted any additional upgrades. I don't remember the place, but if you contact them and explain why you're calling, I'm sure they would direct you. Incidentally, my new coach's front anti-sway bar bushings were already worn considerably after 15,000 miles. The upgrades made a considerable difference in the handling of the coach.

You can help the sway about 50 percent and it won't cost a dollar, crawl under motorhome and look at the sway bars, you will see a small bar that drops down from frame to sway bar, move that small bar and bolt and move it to the back hole on sway bar, this will tighten up sway, I did this and it works but high winds will still be a issue.

Many have done this and it works.

Do the sway bar end link change as Timmac described first considering it doesn't cost you anything. If the wind effects are still not to your comfort then spend some money are install a rear trac bar. Your chassis came with one on the front so you're half way there. They are a bit pricy considering the total material involved but there isn't much in economy of scale for production. Tire pressure will have an effect also. I found if I'm over pressure I lose stability.

According to the paperwork I got with the vehicle the front and rear were suppose to have the stabilizer bars both in front and back.

I've heard that Blue Ox makes a couple of items that are "suppose" to solve the sway on crowned roads and the wind effects. Don't have a clue how much these items cost or if they are worth the cost period. Anyone have experience with a Blue Ox item?

Do the free version 1st as I stated before spending money, the sway bars on your 07 are good enough, they just need to be adjusted to work better, you will see 2 holes on your sway bar now, the 1st outer hole will have a bar attached to it coming down from frame, move that bar to the back hole on sway bars, do this on both sway bars, it works, and best of all its free..
