I had a similar problem with my steps when my baby class A sat up for a bit. The chassis battery was about half dead, coach battery fully charged from converter, the steps won't full deploy. Once chassis battery full they operated properly. When we purchased the coach, a 1993 Fleetwood Flair 22D, the steps didn't work and one side had broken loose from the chassis. Took them off and did a good cleaning, painted a few things, repaired chassis mount and reinstalled the steps. Use a dry lubricate on the mechanism and it won't attract dirt, we use that in the fire service for our ladders for the same reason. Good luck with your coach.
