Thanks. that's kinda what I figured. Haven't ruled out a soft top, because getting caught in the rain with a hard top sitting at CG while we're out sightseeing isn't a ton of fun. Going shopping next weekend to see what he local dealership has to offer.
Yeah, that is the big downside to a hard top. I've also been looking for a soft top for this reason.
Challenge is, I want my cake and eat it, too - I want to be able to use the hard top sometimes when its very hot or cold outside and we want the hard top, but be able to take it off and easily put on a soft top for those times when the climate is a bit more favorable, and just need to be prepared for the pop up rain showers.

Agreed. My 87 has a hard top and the only thing we occasionally use in the summer is the small bimini top which doesn't do much for rain, it's more of a sun shade. So the top is off all summer and we only take it out when the forecast is solid otherwise it stays in the garage. Don't have that luxury while travelling. I am told the new soft tops are pretty good with regards to noise and wind.
