The continuing Norcold 1201LRIM Saga
Well it just keeps on going. As I mentioned on another thread:
We are in the process of studying our options;
-New heating unit;
-New heating unit, new control board;
New heating unit, new control board, new doors(door seals aren't replaceable);
-New Norcold 1201LRIM or equivalent;
-New residential fridge, added batteries, inverter, solar panels and controller to what we have now.
The options changed slightly when I we opening the left hand door this morning it came out in my hand. The lower hinge mechanism which screws into the plastic door edge (What idiot made that decision?)tore completely out.
Of course we are in Mexico. I'll have to see if I can find a hardware store and find something to use. I may have to whittle a wood spacer to avoid crushing what remains of the plastic door edge. I think I'll have to drill and bolt right through plywood panel on the bottom edge of the door. For now it is shut and seems tight--no door open alarm going off. God know what will happen when we hit the first bump.
Photos later.
