I had an issue with my bedroom slide, it would go out then stop, go a little more then stop. Found the slide rails were gunked up with whatever lubricant was used and it turned to glue.
I cleaned the rails and it worked fine . The motor was shutting off on it's internal protector. Now, once a year or so I Remove the plywood platform for access and clean the slides then use a lubricant designed for that purpose.
I understand many RV people don't know a screwdriver from a wrench however have you ever looked into mobile RV services? Some of the posts here sound like their world will end if their slide failed.Some posts could have been remedied by a call to a mobile guy and a few hours of downtime,maybe even at your campsite.
At a racing venue i attend twice a year there is a mobile service that drives around the rv camping areas and he is busy all 5 days helping folks out. He helped me with my fridge door, I opened it and it fell off. Do they make Rv's without fridge doors,now Im fearing my fridge door will fail,(insert sarcasm icon here).
Bottom line, relax, there is assistance available wherever you roam, enjoy yourself.
