Actually, that's not exactly what I said. ;)
If I felt that having a slide would improve my camping experiences, I would have one. How I camp isn't the deciding factor - I just don't feel that I need a slide to get more enjoyment out of my RV.
If I did have one, I would just make sure I knew how to get it back in so I could get home. That to me is the key. If I needed a generator to be able to dry camp, I would learn how to troubleshoot the generator. I don't need a generator to dry camp, so I don't have one.
Basically, if I have it, I will learn what I can to keep it working. If I don't feel the need to have it, then I won't bother getting it and learning how to keep it working.
