- ferndaleflyerExplorer IIII just wet to Cleveland and back on I-77 most of the way. I didn't think it was that bad and we had a lot of fun. I guess if you travel a lot like we do you don't notice it as much, and where are these pristine roads of which you speak?
- BB_TXNomadUS 69 in OK has been that bad for many years. Can't believe they can't correctly repair that stretch of highway. Actually it needs to be completely rebuilt.
- wildtoadExplorer IISlow down, make your tires are aired based on weight not side wall, or placard numbers.

STAY OFF THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS.
We have tken to traveling state and uS routes. Generally the roads are better and less traffic. The exception is US 69 in Oklahoma. Slow down and enjoy the journey,
YES, absolutely agree. The US and State highways are now in much better shape than the Interstates, plus we can move at a slower pace and see much more.
Also, for the record, if you enjoy driving 50-55 mph, the secondary roads are where you belong anyway. If any of us travel 50-55 on an Interstate, we are nothing but a hazard, and it will be just a matter of time before we become the reason for a serious altercation. Just my 2 cents worth. - Tyler0215ExplorerSTAY OFF THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS.

The good news is the current adminstration is working to repair the roads and bridges that have been neglected far too long.
The bad news is two fold.. This means road/lane closures. construction delays and of course what happens when we get a new adminstration? (Answer to that last is I do not know). I should point out this is not a PARTASIN political issue as the phrase "Been neglected far too long" means multiple administrations.
The reason it's a political thread is in article 1 of the constutition if anyone is interested.. Where it Gives the Government the authority to establish post offices and postal roads. Thus making the Group of Politicians we call Congress responsible for the maintenance of the roads...
One other comment: this one not political.. Back in my 9-1-1 days we occasionally got calls (I worked in Detroit) "I'm going to Chicago this weekend is there any construction on I-94?
Well let's see. that's like 150 miles (From Center Detroit to the Michigan State line) And you are only in Indiana at the zero point. so yes. there WILL be construction. For by the time they get it all resrufaced.. it's time to do it again.
But all this is just fact.. No opinion here. other than "neglected far too long" and I think we all agree on that. - dodge_guyExplorer IIMy 2012 rides amazing. I have (from the previous owner) Sumos frt and rear, Koni FSDs, Hellwig sway bars front and rear, and a Blue OX true center steering stabilizer. Also make sure your tire pressures are set to the proper pressure. You’ll need to have it weighed as ready for a trip. I’m betting right now your tire pressure are too high!
- larry_cadExplorer IIWe here in Ohio have learned how to swerve to avoid MOST of the potholes, but there is always another one just ahead that gets you. It helps to slow down to make the bumps less violent. There is no way to totally avoid the mess.
