Think I need a C

I think we're getting there. The old give and take. What do you really want, vs what do you really, really want. The closest we've found so far, with all your help, is the Phoenix Cruiser 2100. 21' on a Ford gas chassis. Has the dinette where I can have my coffee while she sleeps in. Has the walk around bed (which set-up is really cheesy) and that is the only problem. Open this recliner, unlatch the table/foot rest, set it in place and then do the same for the other half. OH don't forget the spanner/insert to make it a complete bed. Now make the bed. NOT!
Had it been a Murphy type bed, pull down and sleep. It would be a done deal.
Has a slide, which is on the OK side of the list, 21', which is on the preferred side as is the Ford gas engine. The floor plan is definitely on the plus side, but the bed set up blows it all.
Plan on making the NDOG in June, which is in Loudonville, Ohio, and just might detour on the way home and stop in and see these folks. Just to see what they can do.

if you think about it, many b and b+ models hafe twin beds that can stay made. many are joined as a king bes at the pillow end. may be easily accessed w/ the separating gap at the feet end.

Might want to take a look at the Fuse by Winnebago. It is 24' but it does have one slide out but it is on a Ford chassis.

Having gone from a Roadtrek 210P to a Phoenix Cruiser 2350 we now feel like we are in a huge mansion, space wise! However, we do have a corner bed and a full bath.

I think most of us have been looking for the perfect rig for our needs.....and never really finding it. It just seems that all rv things are compromises. We loved the Winnebago products with the rear slide for the bed, making it fully walk around. BUT, we didn't want a Mercedes chassis.

Here is one thing we found out: when you get anymore room you also get more hassle parking, driving and a few other things. Like you, we were B people for four units and have had a couple of small Cs over the years, including the current one. I must confess: I miss our Roadtrek but the extra room and the change in how we use our rig makes up for it.

By the way, check this out for a C so small it is almost a B but has a dinette, nice kitchen, a conversion bed, full bath, etc.

Less than 24 feet with a walk-around double/queen bed and a dinette is a very tall order. That LTV got real close to your 24' limitation.

Our Phoenix Cruiser is 23'-8" which falls within, but of coarse it has the corner bed. We bought our rig HERE in 2007 at age 49. We did buy it with our later years in-mind since we keep such things so very long. The plan is to use it until too old to safely drive it. We are 58 this year and though the rear corner bed was never ideal, it is still working well. I can envision in our 70s & early 80s, I will likely make a minor interior change to help us with bed access. It would be easier to get in and out of bed if the hanging shirt closet was made as shallow as the adjacent over-head cabinets. And I would ditch the bedroom TV and pull out shelf to help make it work.

If you considered a Phoenix Cruiser 2350 and would like the shirt closet made shallow to easier access to the bed, the factory would be happy to accommodate such a request, and I believe it would be at no extra charge.

Rear corner bed aside, our rig is extremely comfortable. We are not large people struggling with weight loss which does make a difference in the fairly compact design.

If you are worried about your home owners association, consider a B+ rig like ours with a full body paint job and without the ladder and roof rack, so it doesn't look so much like a motor home. Our rig also is much more narrow and with a much lower roof line compared to a typical class C motor home. It's not as massive looking parked outside next to your house. Pick a color that blends in better to the world around it. If you do all suggested, there will be little reason for "Association" issues.

Thanks for all the great input. One thing I might have forgot to mention is the length. If it's under 24 we can park it in our driveway. Over that it's off to a storage facility (which we rather not do). We've been looking at an Avion. Doesn't quite fit the bill, with the crawl over bed and all, but does have a place where I can have my coffee while she sleeps in. Looks more like a van so the Home Owners Assn won't yell. Not really happy with the idea of a Benz chassis/motor and such. Always have a fear, if I need service in Podunk, Wherever how in God's name will I find a Benz dealer. Ford & Chevy dealers always seem to be everywhere.
The Winnie Travato is also very close. But again the bed isn't it. And 46" is tight for two. And again you have the "crawl over". The dinning/coffee area is great. Now, Dodge & Fiat factor don't make me happy at all - rather have a Benz, I think.
Hymer has a GREAT looking product. Both the Hymer Car & Van Compact. Not yet available in the US, that I could find and on the Dodge/Fiat combination.
Guess some more research and spreadsheets are in order. Thanks for all the input.

You may want to take a look at a small Class A. The Forest River FR3 Series come pretty close to your specs. The 25DS has a king size bed with good access to both sides. Granted, it has 2 slides but has pretty much everything you were looking for. Prices for used don't seem to be too bad. It is based on the Ford chassis.

In another forum there was talk about a full time bed recently. The general feeling was that if for the best use of space the bed should double as something else. In the picture above the bedroom is also a meeting room. The overhead is a nice size but be careful sitting up. The vent crank will smack you. The dinette also forms a bed but only for short (less than 5'6" people). The shower is very roomy.
