We're looking at getting the same dolly as you have, don't want the extra expense of another breaking system. We are definitely getting road side and possibly extended warranty. Thanks for the tips on the books etc.

Main thing is spend a few nights camping in the lot or very close by and make sure "everything" works and works right. By the way, if you go to the Winny web site, you can download the old brochures for models and get the true specs. I see that the dealer advertised 100 gals water capacity. If that is true, Winny made a big change in tanks between 2000 and 2004 without changing much else on the MH.

By the way, I like the basement air-------it keeps the weight low and it operates quietly. We've got plenty of storage space even with it in the basement.

When you rent, there will be a mileage charge, typically very steep. When we checked into it, the mileage chzrge for a 1500 mile trip exceeded the daily rental fee by a lot. They also charge extra if you use the genny, and they charge for "stuff rental" dishes, sheet blankets and towels, everything. Rentals are empty

Unfortunately, condition is key to a used motorhome purchase.

That manufacturer and model will serve you well for the 5 month tour.

Whether that specific rig will do so, will depend on its condition.

It looks good in pictures but I would never buy anything without seeing it in person. Pictures do not always tell the whole story. I would see if you can get an independent inspector to check it out for you. Without knowing the dealer I would not trust their comments on the quality of anything. I have a Workhorse chassis that had the brakes redone. By flushing brake fluid every 2 years there will be no problems. Europeans are used to brake fluid flushing but many US citizens & mechanics think it lasts forever. Good Luck on your journey!!
