First of all, Gator country prayers to your wife and you during this.

We all pray she will recover completely, and you will both be able to enjoy your RV for years to come. I agree with other posters here, If you love RVing wait awhile before you make any drastic changes.

Sorry to hear this, 5 years ago i took the flu shot and got GBS and was paralyzed from the waist down. I was in hospital for 3 weeks and went through therapy 3 mths. I lost 25 lbs of muscle and have not gained it back. I was told at my age(71)that i might not gain it back. Well, i have had to have some help with some things but we are still rving and seeing the country. The best thing i can say is don't give up, life is to short!!!!Good luck, Mike

As others have said, there is a good chance of a full recovery and an excellent chance of a near full recovery. Even with a disability you can enjoy the RV lifestyle.

I am on the other end with Post Polio syndrome, slowly weakening, worsened and accelerated by over-exercise. (That's why the rig is so dirty sometimes lol.) We travel extensively in our motorhome, every winter to Mexico, DW doing most of the heavier work-packing, un packing, setting up etc. We'll carry on as long as possible, hopefully well into our 70s or even beyond.

I would encourage you to do what you can, enjoying what you can, when you can for as long as you can. Yes you must plan for the future and keep the future in mind but don't let fear of the future rule your every decision or you will end up sitting at home worrying for the rest of your life.

A year after we bought our Mh, My wife had a breakdown. She was hospitalizes for a while. She is doing much better now and is enjoying the MH. I had thought about selling our while she was sick, glade we held out. Give it time, do not rush into doing things that you may wish you did not do. Our blessing go out to you and the wife.

Thanks everyone we will take it one day at a time. It is listed on Rv Trader so if it happens I can always down size when things get better. This is a good site with alot of good folks. Geaux Tigers!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife and I pray for a speedy and healthy recovery. About selling your coach I can't make that call, but if it's going to put a strain on your budget because your finances are changing due to early retirement selling it maybe in order. Take Care, John

I had Guillain–Barré syndrome about 25 years ago. It took me about a year and a half to get back to about 90% normal.

The only lingering problem I had was muscle cramps.

I think I'd hang on to the RV for a while and see what develops.

Circumstances will improve. Don't rush to sell. Give it some time.
