Thor 2014 Hurricane 34E

I'm new to this forum and wish that I'd discovered it before we purchased. We unfortunately haven't too much good to say about the product nor the dealer we purchased from. We took delivery in mid February and seem to be discovering failures with the coach daily. We currently are living with plumbing, construction quality, lighting and general quality issues. We've had exterior lenses fall off, windshield wipers fall off, exterior doors that are difficult to open, light lenses fill up with water, plumbing leaks, a bed over the cab that lifts unevenly and is gouging the walls to name just a few of the many more. I'm referring to the coach only and have not had any issues with the Ford V10 drive train (we've driven it only 800 miles). Since we've been living in the coach since mid February, quality service is extremely important. Our Camping world experience has been far from satisfactory. I have contacted Thor and asked if they would look at it during our return back to Michigan. We were told they wouldn't be able to look at it until July.
  • I picked up the same Thor 2014 Hurricane 34E back in November. WOW! Sorry to hear that you have a lemon.

With my two teenage kids and I virtually living in it and beating it up for the past seven months the only things that have broken have been the automatic door steps, (the main bolt sheared off), and just today I had the rear bathroom fan motor replaced under warranty, (it was getting loud).

The overhead bunk uses Shwintek brand rails that have a history of using inferior Chinese motors. And, the original main drive gear is known to break. If mine break after the original, and extended warranties expire, I will replace the motors with good aftermarket non-Chinese units, and I'll have the drive gears fabricated by a local machinist if I can't find good off the shelf replacements.

Get everything fixed soon, as your warranty is about to expire, (like mine).
  • Another satisfied Thor owner. One thing Thor owners do universally seem to agree on is the level of customer service at the Thor Factory for repairs. I would agree with just stopping on by and being politely vocal and insistent.
  • Well here is another "Sore Thor" owner.

    Sorry about your problems
  • Remember too, it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease....sorry to hear of your troubles. Be polite but firm and work your way up the corporate ladder to get best results.....Dennis
  • You might consider just arriving on the parking lot on your way back to MI. Good chance they will find time to take a look if you're looking them in the eye. Worked for me many years ago with Fleetwood.
