  • We finishing our fifth camping season with our nine year old Thor Hurricane. Have yet to experience a problem I could directly relate to something Thor built. Been towed home once due to a chassis problem, killed a tire when a valve stem seal failed, replaced the toilet after breaking three flush valves, replaced the generator starter. Can't think of anything else other than very minor issues found during routine maintenance that were simple to correct.

I've owned two homes that were both new construction and experienced more problems with both than with the coach and both homes had a 0 MPH speed limiter while the coach stops accelerating at 75.

We owned a 2014 Thor ACE before we traded for our current motorhome. Their customer service was great on the few things we did have issues with. The dealer we bought it from I will never go back to. We couldn't get our dealers service department to even call us back. So I started calling Thor and it was no problem getting the parts I needed for the few repairs it needed.

    X2

We have a A.C.E. 30.1 and are quite pleased with it. Sure, there have been couple of cosmetic issues inside the rig that we've been able to take care of ourselves, and the 2 simple outside problems were quickly solved with a couple of phone calls to Thor's customer service department. We've found Brian, the guy we always talk with in customer service, very easy to speak with. And they've been more than willing to allow us to take the rig to an independent repair shop for the 2 small problems (windshield washer pump and leak in the water pump fittings).

When folks like the OP make sweeping generalizations I tend to raise my eyebrows, wondering what's really behind those statements.

This is, of course, not true. I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with whatever you bought (unless this is simply a troll) but there are lots and lots of happy Thor customers. If you need a platform to air your grievances you certainly can post what happened and who let you down and in what form. Maybe your dealer is the problem. Maybe Thor is the problem. Maybe it's a combination of both (or neither).
If you want, give us all of the details. Make, model, year, new, used, who, what, where, why, whatever you can. Understand that there is likely not a single person here who can help but we can all offer condolences or share in your pain. If any of the complaints are legitimate you might also help a future buyer in their decision making process.
  • Would like to know about problems you are having. My experience with Thor has been good. We had about a half dozens things wrong with our MH when we took delivery, but they all got fixed.
  • I can appreciate frustration and trying to vent every where I can. Sometimes these frustrating problems with RVs make us feel doomed. RVs are expensive. A lot of these problems can be solved. Many times there are slimy dealers that treat us like mushrooms and try to make us believe they are the good guy. JMHO, sometimes just calling the manufacturer will solve huge issues. I have found in the past that when a dealer is making big bucks on paying customers they don't like to take discounted warranty work. They give us the sunshine treatment or just tell us the the manufacturer refuses to repair the issue.

You might just explain what some of the issues are. Possibly get some real help on this forum.
  • A questionable first post to say the least! You really need to include what your problems are, and what you've done trying to have them resolved.
