Anyone had experience with the new Palazzo diesel pusher by Thor? Would it hold up? Thanks.
I put a deposit on one a couple weeks ago. After some research, I was shocked by all the problems that were not getting repaired properly or just not repaired. I cancelled my order and bought a different one from a much better company. I dodged the bullet on that one. Be carful.
What did you end up getting? It's a real shame because the Palazzo really had the makings of a nice entry level DP. But the issues they are having with the slides and some other things hurt Thor's image as a whole. I window shop on line a lot and won't even offer a second glance to any MH with a schwintek full wall slide. I am not convinced it's a Thor-only issue, although I haven't seen anything to say it's a Shwintek vs Thor.
I got a 2015 Newmar Canyon Star 3610. My last 2 were DP's so this is the first gasser I've had in a long time. It has 22.5 wheels and looks like a DP. It's on a 24,000 lb chassis. The quality on this thing is the best I've ever seen on a gasser. Newmar uses the same slides and interior quality as their DP's and it was 11,000. less than the Polazzo - EffyExplorer II

I love the layout of thePalazzo but the reputable dealer that sells Thor along with Fleetwood told me right up front that even though they carried them they would not sell me one because of the slide outs not being square!
LOL! A dealership "would not sell" a unit due to the low quality of a product. Yeah. OK. :B:B:B:B - Jcox43ExplorerI love the layout of thePalazzo but the reputable dealer that sells Thor along with Fleetwood told me right up front that even though they carried them they would not sell me one because of the slide outs not being square!

Like already said, do your homework, and read over 93mastercraft's experience.
JMO, but any Motorhome that sells for $160k and the chassis alone costs the manufacturer over $100k before they even start building the coach/house on it.....Wellll, you just can't expect a whole lot.
I know there are some happy Palazzo owners out there, and I mean no disrespect to them. However, this is just not a coach I'd be interested in.
There are quite a few on that chassis that sell for a similar price that don't have same issues. (Excursion, ventana le, forza, legacy). So. Don't agree that it's the price point that's the problem . The palazzo in and of itself is not a horrible rv. The slides seem to be the Achilles heel. I just wonder why or how other mfctrs use the same mechanism don't have the same issues.
Good points, Effy. You're right the slide mechanism seems to be the biggest problem with the Palazzo.
I've wondered same thing, why other manufacturers aren't seeing the same issues with that slide mechanism.

Will - mtrumpetExplorerYou may want to check out these recent threads regarding a Thor Palazzo. As Effy eluded to, the slides seem to be the biggest problem.
I was an IDIOT for buying a Thor Palazzo!
What would you do if you were me?
