Through the Middle
Been out west a couple of times, first time clockwise second time counter clockwise. This time through the middle, roughly I-64 to I-70. Looking for suggestions.

Cahokia Mounds State Park is in western Illinois near the Missouri border and just a few miles north of I64.
We visited there a few years back on the way west and really enjoyed it. There is an excellent visitor center there.
We usually use route 36 across MO and KS for a more relaxed drive than I70.
