What about them? There are literally hundreds of options for fueling your RV. Some are better than others but there is no ONE right or wrong. If you are heading along a 1000 mile highway and need fuel, find a good truck stop. If you are in a town and you see a great price on fuel and you know you can get your RV in and out safely, go there to fuel. - Bill_SatelliteExplorer II

The Pilot/FJs I've been to, will only accept comercial cards at the truck pumps. You have to use the RV/auto islands to pay at the pump. It's all about the fuel tax and maybe rebates for trucks.

Nope, I have been using the PFJ RV card at the truck pumps for many, many years. No worries, no issues. I never use an RV pump but then I use diesel. If you have a gas RV you will need to use the regular or RV pumps but you will still want to use the PFJ card for the savings.
Are there places you can fuel for less? Absolutely! Are you assured to be able to easily get in and out of those facilities? I'll leave that up to you. I frequently fuel elsewhere but not if I am traveling from point A to point B and need fuel. I don't want any surprises and I know what I am getting, I know I will be able to eat and park should either of those be necessary as well.
Flying J was a much better business before they went broke and got purchased by the morons at Pilot but when it makes sense, it just makes sense. - LipetsExplorerWhat about other companies besides FJ, TA for example?
- Passin_ThruExplorerTry Gasbuddy.com and then buy all you can in NC as it was 3.65 yesterday and on 17-15 in Opal Va it was 3.65 NJ isn't bad, NY is ridiculous. Pilot is about .03 higher and the fuel is the same and I have 2.4 million miles behind me, some even hauling fuel for Sun oil who delivered to Flying J and everyone else. They don't have arefinery of their own.
Read this and then think about whom you are buying from. Really? Wnat to support the Mafia? http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2013/06/more_pilot_flying_j_employees.html - BobGedExplorer

I'd call that a "charge card", which is only good at particular station. But if it is connected to a bank account, and you need money in the account to cover the charge, then I'd call it a debit card.
I stand corrected on the technicality. The RV Plus is a "charge" card not a "debit" card. The only point I was trying to make is the balance has to be paid by the end of the month. You cannot carry over a balance, therefore it is not a "credit" card. - hooliganExplorer

I'm headed north up 95 in 2weeks, I want to use perhaps flying J etc is there a way to get better discounts.
FlyingJ Pilot has changed their rewards program as of 1 Dec 13- discounts now are only through GoodSam, 2 weeks is short notice to get their cards. (You can try!!!)
Without rewards card, at the RV lanes just use a regular credit card and pay at the pump. Cash price is lower but you pay inside. At the truck pumps, go inside and prepay, pump fuel then pull forward so you are not blocking the pump and go back inside for receipt or change.
Long discussion here on the loyalty/rewards card demise, and the GoodSam cards. RV Rewards Card - MARKW8ExplorerThe Pilot/FJs I've been to, will only accept comercial cards at the truck pumps. I just put in my Pilot/Flying J credit card and then type in the control number.
Control number? What is that?
I just fueled at a FJ early this week. I put in my FJ card, then my credit card and fueled. I received 3 cents off per gallon.

He's talking about the PFJ RV Plus Card, but it is not a credit card, it's a debit card that has to be paid in full each month. There is a $1,000 limit card and a $2,500 limit card. All the details are on the site. - BobGedExplorer

The auto-diesel pumps will have PATP and you'll even find some dedicated RV pump stations, also PATP. I'm towing 4 wheels down and go to the truck lanes so I don't have to possibly back up.
Compare fuel prices at:
http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx
Generally, you'll find prices at stations that match truck stop prices with any discounts. Trucking Co.'s have accounts with pre-quoted fuel prices, but I don't know about owner-operator accounts. I've had personal Loves, T/A, Flyin J discount cards, but could never use enough fuel to take advantage of discounts. Discount card pay methods could have changed...been years since I had one.
