You may want to look into a power tank, it is a tank of co2 , I carry one and can fill my trailer tires to 110 psi with no problems also dont need power. Google power tank see what you think

If you are going to use it to winterize (blowing out the fresh water pipes) as well as for airing up the tires be sure to look for a oil less design. You do not want to add oil to the water system. I would look for one that will air up to 90 lbs and can run continually for a good while or has some kind of tank. There are advantages with both types, one is smaller (tankless), the other (with a tank) while bigger runs less and can air up several tires much faster.

Many gas stations only air tires up to 35 pounds at the pumps, gauges often don't work or are way off, etc. Gotta keep feeding quarters to the air machine. Argggh!

This is only 9" high so fits in my low-profile exterior storage. On at 90-95, off at 135psi. Haven't used it yet but confident with patience will do the job in the field; and can be used to blow out water lines. Like you said you don't want to carry around an elephant gun.

"0.75 SCFM at 90 PSI". Don't know if that's good or slow, but at least they spec it.

For home use a larger compressor is in order, or air your tires way up at a station and bleed them down to the correct pressure in the morning.

Ok, I am looking for a recommendation on a suitable air compressor. The "pancake" I have will pressures to 100 psi and comes back on at 75 psi. Yes, I know I need more CFM not pressure.

I would like to do the check/top off in 10-15 minuets, not spend an hour. Yes, I know "the bigger the tank the more cfm".

I only need 65 psi in a 16" wheel. I don't want an elephant gun to hunt rats.

If you intend to carry a compressor in your RV, there are not many that are really up to the job. I have a 2-gallon Campbell Hausfeld tank type compressor that can get my rear duals back up to 80 psi but patience is needed. I need to let pressure build to over 100psi to get air to go into tires that have 70psi in them. My compressor is handy for motorcycle and bicycle, tires, basketballs, etc. Best to contact mfr, tell them what capability you need and get recommendations.

I just use a dive tank with a suitable regulator and inflator/gauge set attached. Many many tire top offs from a dive tank, then air refill at a dive shop as needed.

I found a Husky compressor at Home Depot several years ago. It goes up to 100 psi. You can set it for the pressure you want and attach it to the air intake so you don't have to hold it all the time. It isn't fast, but you can do something else while you're waiting.

As Bill alluded to, its not pressure but volume. As you compress air, its volume decreases so you need a bigger compressor, i.e. one that puts out more cfm. You don't need to go all the way to a $1000 one, if I read your post correctly. As a rule of thumb. a good $100 120v compressor should work for you.

I have a Sears pancake that will put 90 in my MH tires. Much slower than my big tank model in the garage though. The little guys don't put out a lot of cfm. They do ok on pressure but not so good on volume.
