Tire Pressure Monitoring System Question

I have the TireMinder TM77 pressure monitoring system and am getting ready to install the transmitters the rear duals. To catch the outside tires (which are mounted with the valve stems on the inside) I added Wheelmaster 135 degree valve stem extensions which fit nicely. I do worry that the weight of the transmitter will cause the extension to move up or down which may loosen the extension on the tire valve and cause a leak. Has anyone used this setup? Any problems or successes? Appreciate your help.

  • Next time you change tires get the dually valves installed and you will not have to use extenders.
  • That's my fear exactly. I'll go thru the link you sent and use a support if I do the duals. I'm starting to doubt that there is a risk free way of doing this and may just monitor the front tires where I can screw the transmitters directly to the tire valve stem.
  • I have mine on a braided extension off the 135° valve extender and affixed to the hub. I've already had one leak in that configuration, so I would think the centrifugal force will be too much with the transmitter hanging off the extender.

At the very least get a set of these.
