Tire Pressures and Oil Capacity

I run 100 psi all around! My manual says 85 rear and 90 front didn't work for me (tire squirm) so I experimented with different tire pressures and found what works best for me. I must of done it right because I got 10 years out of my first set of tires. Good Luck to you and your new tires!

I have a smaller 2006 F53 chassis than the OP and only need 80 PSI in the set of Kelley KSR tires to support the maximum axle capacity of the chassis. Running at max sidewall indicated pressure shouldn't hurt the tires but will make for a very hard ride and maybe stability problems. The builders label in the coach will list the tire size, weight class and associated recommended inflation for the maximum axle load. As long as you are not overloaded and are using the recommended tire size those numbers will be safe.

Engine oil for the Ford V10 is six quarts. Last oil change for reasons beyond my reasoning I used seven quarts. Didn't seem to hurt the engine but I was wondering why my mileage suddenly dropped about 3/4 MPG. Will see if that was the cause this weekend while on the road.

But OP doesn't have a 8.1 Workhorse. He has a 6.8 Ford V10.

we have a 2004 35E on a Workhorse. The 8.1 takes 7 quarts when you use the quart size filter K & N filter HP3002. Recommend you use the one quart filters, there is a large filter 2 quart available but don't have that number.I have the same max pressure for ours tires and loader for travel 100 psi front and 98 psi rear.

6 qts , don't know about your tire pres

I had my coach weighted at the FMCA Rally in Albany,Or (4 corner wt) and I'm over wt in the rear by 1150lbs and under in the front by 730lbs. In January I got a new set of Michelin 295/80R22.5 XZA2 with a max PSI of 120lbs. With a combined wt of 33,620lbs FR 6,405lbs-FL 6,065lbs RR 10,195lbs-LR 10,955lbs I have to run 105 PSI in the front and 100 PSI in the rear. This is the only way to get a true wt reading and know what PSI to run, money well spent. Must be the new steel and brass radiator and not the way the wife packed the coach.
You need to check your books on the Cummins or maybe someone with a Cummins can tell you. My Cat C9 400 holds 8.5 gallons.

You need to get your rig weighed. You can then adjust your air pressure based on Hancock's air pressure chart.
