Tires... Continntal vs. mich goodyr

Well I had a tire issue and needed two front tires. I have Michelian
on all 6. but I was in a suburb and couldnt get replacement Michelan
tires for 3-5 days and had to move on ... long story.
The only tires avail to me were Continntal. 225 R70 195..
At the RV park I was told .. I have Continntals and they have 7 year
sidewall guarantee, had them 5 years no problem. Lots of people said
oh no... get rid of them get.. goodyear.. or michelins... you'll not be safe with Continnal's. they are bad tires. Kinda scared me.

I've only had Goodyears for like 20 year and then went to Michelans
for the next 15 years.

I had no choice to replace the front tires with Continnals on my lat trip. Long story. So I am
wondering if anyone out there has experience with this brand.

I just worry that my tires are maybe not safe.. I am a single gramma
and travel alone. Should I bite the bullit and just replace these
tires with Michelans or are the Continennal tires gonna be OK for
the front tires?

    Dy, Continental (know as Conti's in Europe) tires are made in the U.S. but they are a German Owned Company that has been making tires for a long time. I have no info to contribute on how good these tires due to I never bought a set or know anyone who has. Good Luck with your new Conti's.

    You mention the warranty. Remember, to collect on a tire warranty you need to haul the tire around until you can find a company adjustor to take care of the warranty adjustment. Pictures will not do it. And that is all tire warranties, not just Continental. And I do not read the Continental warranty at the 7 years you mentioned.

    It is 6 years on your 19.5 or smaller tires, and that is pro rated like all tire warranties!

    Thanks Dy for asking this question. I have the same size Continentals on my Four Winds( G load rating) and was wondering the same thing. I'm feeling better. :)

    I run Continentals. Mine are NOT made in China. Nice quiet ride.

    Continentals are great & equal to Michelin & Goodyear. BTW, sidewall dry rot will happen to any tires exposed to the sun/UV over an extended period of time.

    I have had both continenals and michelins. Both brands had sidewall dry rot at 4 years with less than 12k miles. Grrrr

    Nothing wrong at all with the Continntals. Make sure you have Cell phone with you at all times fully charged! Then you can travel anywhere you wish

    I have the same tires as you , they have been on the coach 5 years and about 23,000 miles. No problems so far. Replaced Bridgestones that were on the rig, when purchased used by me .

    I ran Continentals on the front of my Peterbilts. LOVED them. Continentals are good tires.
