My friend was replacing his son's toilet, and was very careful to place a rag over the open fitting in the floor while working. He called his son later to ask how it was working. He said he had to remove the toilet, and found a tape measure under it in the piping (at home) and removed it, reinstalled and works great now. Probably the grandson dropped it down the pipe while granpa was out of the room.
It can happen. But a roll of paper towles?
I don't think you need to causion all the future visitors to not take in a roll of paper towels into the RV restroom. Just not leave it unsupervised in the future.
Lesson learned, but it only cost $300. In 10 years, you might still recall the event, but will forget about the cost. A tire blowout or awning repair might run closer to $1,000.
Have fun camping!
