Toilet Flange Question

From my massive pool of knowledge (A whopping 2 flange replacements), I have found that the down pipe is screwed and glued or just plain glued into the black tank. The flange is screwed and glued as well. If you are lucky enough to have a straight pipe into the black tank, you can often break the thread free and unscrew it up a bit to compensate for new flooring. As I read it, I'm not sure I am making any kind of sense...

Seems to make sense to me.......should I be worried?? Thanks, I'll take a closer look, not too close, and see if it's glued and or threaded. Looks like there are some workarounds available so things should work out. I'll check out the flange spacers.

I'd wonder why it is crooked?

Most likely this crooked flange is "WHY" you are replacing a rotted floor around the toilet. It's been bad from day one, it always leaked, and that is what rotted the floor.

Almost makes me wonder if the black tank is seated properly in the coach?
It should be a straight shot down from the toilet to the black tank...

Just buy a flange spacer and put it on top of your old flange. NO need to remove the old flange and break any seals. When you install the toilet again, use new bolts which will be more than long enough to take care of the additional height.

The problem with WAX rings is that they do not bounce back. Once formed, that is their permanent shape. If the toilet moves, they will leak.
They make rubber rings that have a deflector flange to insure that waste travels straight down. These can be stacked and will remain flexible to take care of any shifting that always happens in an RV.

Plumber's putty is also an option. I have seen 2 wax rings stacked and also a wax ring with plumber's putty on top of it...

Preliminary check is good.
Well, I pressurized the system and flushed the toilet about a dozen times, so far so good. As far as pictures go I didn't think to take a picture until I read the post above. I'm real good at remembering after the fact. - Tom

Are you able to post a photo of this project? I know I work better with photos to see what you are talking about.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

If you're really concern you can pull the toilet again after six months and check for any water staining.
