With 3 Lithium Ion batteries, we can run all four roof airs as we have four 3,500 watt inverters and four alternators on the engine (if we are driving down the road).
I have run one or two air units while going down the road on battery power, no real need to run all four. But, since the generator is always in need of exercise, it just makes since to run the genny and use whatever we need on the inside.
We can run our batteries down to 30 percent and then the generator will kick on if it is 'armed'. Lithium Ion batteries can take many many cycles and not damage the battery unlike AGM's or Lead Acid. We have 4 AGM batteries for starting (24 volt system) and one battery for the generator.
