This makes sense to me. Lots of state campgrounds also have cabins for rent. In your situation this makes more sense. Put your rig on craigslist and/or the newspaper. You can get more than 8K for it.

You guys missed the point, I think, all together. The OP said his motorhome for the 5er and $8000 on top of the 5er.
I worked at a couple RV dealerships and I saw what they cost the dealer. I'd never buy a new one.
I would love to buy your coach, but I just looked it up, and it's above my scale for now. I retired from the USAF, and went back to work for the DoD again. When I retire again, in 4 years, you have what I'd be looking for.
If there is any way that you can find time to use it, I'd really do it. And, I have friends that don't use their coaches that much, so they get some money out of them, and rent them. There are companies that will handle everything for you, if you'd like to do that...
