I would think it is unlocked
On KarKaddy SS Locked may be different for others. - fighterpilotaExplorerTo answer an earlier question, Acme, Eze tow doesn't steer or pivot. Requires you to keep steering wheel unlock.
- Sez_Hoo_ExplorerI have a Stehl Tow Dolly. It has surge brakes, and unlike a lot of tow dollies that I've seen this one has disc brakes not the old drum type brake shoes. I will be selling mine just as soon as I get my Jeep Wrangler.

I also used a Master Tow with electric brakes for the better part of 4 years, had zero problems. Recently sold it as I now have 2 vehicles that I can tow 4 down. The set up for towing 4 down was a lot more money than the tow dolly was.
I've used a Master Tow dolly with the swivel deck for four years now and love it. For the price you can't go wrong. The KarKaddy is a real nice top of the line dolly but at about 3 times the cost. - VinCeeExplorerI've used a Master Tow dolly with the swivel deck for four years now and love it. - DabooExplorerI used a tow master...the only problem I had, the ramps would not fold or slide in...thus a dragging problem when going over a hump..I used a U-Haul dolly once, and the ramps slid in under the wheels of the towed vehicle...I liked that better..If I went back to the tow dolly, I would buy a type that the ramps folded or slid in, it would have surge brakes instead of the electric brake and the system lights would be LED and not incad...other than those reasons, I had good luck with the tow dolly...also there is one other thing I forgot...the wheels had the zerts in the middle for lubing the wheel bearings...I liked that also..
- dbatesExplorerI assumed that all dollies were steerable. Either with swivel plates that the toad wheels set on or swivel dolly wheels with tie rods (as Demco’s). If there is a dolly that is fixed and requires the toad wheels to swivel I wouldn’t want it as you would have to leave the ignition on to keep the steering lock off.
I’ve pulled my vibe on a Demco KarKaddy SS for eight years and almost 50,000 and have been very pleased with it. You can fold the ramps up and the tongue back to reduce storage by almost 50%. Its heavy duty, fully galvanized (so never a rust problem) and customer service is great. It may cost a little more but Google it for lower than suggested retail price.
Dave - EffyExplorer IIForgive me guys but I have no idea what a "steerable" dolly is. I have a master tow with the swivle plate and I really like how it tracks the vehicle behind you on turns. But what exactly is a "steerable" dolly?

I would think it is unlocked
