- GoldencrazyExplorerRoadmaster steering stabilizer an Tiger trac from blue ox rear trac bar. Cheap handling fix, koni shocks and air ride by kelderman.
- koda55ExplorerIf you are mechanically inclined you can make your own. As mentioned above there are sites on here as to how to build your own.
I took the bolts out of the rear end and made a template. I took that to a place that had quarter inch steel and had them cut it out and they drilled the holes. I also had them make the bracket that attaches to the frame. I bought the cross bar at tractor supply. It is used as a steering leak on tractor. One end is fixed and the other is adjustable. Total cost was less then 100 dollars - SRTExplorer

Here are two items that I added to our (2000) F53 chassis when we had our gasser. It made a big difference in handling.
Davis Tru Trac front trac bar (from Henderson)
Henderson rear trac bar
Yup, same here....:B - racer99ExplorerWE Done the F-53 fix front & rear and made our own rear trac bar (panhard bar), if you google OEMYS Diys trac bars you'll get some good ideas for doing it yourself ours is featured in his columns And the rear trac bar makes a BIG difference in handling-I prefered to use the big u-bolts in our installation instead of little bolts on rear end-RICH

We did the cheap handling fix on our F53 chassis after having new tires and an alignment. We then added a Saf-T-Plus front steering stabalizer and it drives 110% better than it did. Much improved.
Track bar will make another significant improvement! - doxiemom11Explorer IIWe did the cheap handling fix on our F53 chassis after having new tires and an alignment. We then added a Saf-T-Plus front steering stabalizer and it drives 110% better than it did. Much improved.
- iquilt888ExplorerWhat exactly is a "steer safe"? Who makes? What is it's primary function?
Thanks. - nathanExplorerSorry misprint needed info on F-53 chassis not F-59.
- ryanallie1ExplorerHi All.
I kind of went the cheaper route of fixing up our 1998 F-53 Chassis. My project to me just two weekends.
New Tires and Front end allingment. Replaced the worn out Factory Steering Stabilizer Shock, at only 12,061 mile. This was the miles on everything.
Added a "Steer-Safe", and can now drive with just one hand, even in the wind.
Put Firestone, #5000 Air-Bags on all four corners. Got to love that "Steer-Safe", as I now can always drive with just one hand even in the windy days. That one sure make driving a lot more enjoyable. And the Last Item, was a "Banks-Trans-Command.
Our Rexhall Motorhome rides about as quite as any Gasser can. We don't have to raise our voices to tale to each other. Ours is a pure joy to ride and to be in. And best of all, when we bought our Rexhall Motorhome several years ago, we bought it for a "Once in a Life-Time Buy"
We even re-did the inside of the Motorhome, and did it the way we wanted it to look. even two Brand New LED TV's. Our favorite time of the year is in the "Winter Time Boon-Docking"
We can honestly say this, it been a blast in the past 46+ years as "RV'er's and Boon-Doockers"
Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill - HikerdogsExplorerDon't order one for an F59 chassis if it's for your motorhome. The F59 chassis is for commercial step vans. I'm pretty sure the only chassis used for the class A motorhomes is an F53.
