Trac Bar for Ford F53 chassis

Any suggestions for trac bar on a 22,000lb. ford chassis. Prices, experiences , and places to have installed would be appreciated.

Here are two items that I added to our (2000) F53 chassis when we had our gasser. It made a big difference in handling.

Davis Tru Trac front trac bar (from Henderson)

    Henderson rear trac bar

Did you put them both on at the same time or one and than the other. I am especially curious if the rear only would make a significant difference.

I did in fact install them both at the same time.
  • I have the older 99 F53 chassis & the rear trac bar made a great difference in handling, no more tail wag from trucks passing or from uneven road surfaces.

With the Cheap Handling Fix done to the front sway bar, new rear sway bar Poly bushings & the rear trac bar I built & installed myself, the ol 99 drives like a completely different coach, almost a pleasure to drive even with the little 275 hp engine.

  • You know what the crazy thing is, most everybody with a Ford F53 chassis are having one installed, but still Ford not installing them as a standard feature. The new models are coming with a front trac bar, but no rear.

  • Bought mine from Blue Ox. Fairly easy to install. (I'm 75) Check any clearance issues. You may need to add some additional washers on the pivot arm. I spoke to Blue Ox and adding extra washers OK. I think Henderson in Oregon also sells one. Henderson shows installation video on Utube. Good to watch his video. Good info on it.
